Getting Started with BI
OneAvant BI (Business Intelligence) is the analytics layer of the platform. Connect data from OneAvant modules and third-party systems, write SQL queries, assemble interactive databoards, and deliver insights to colleagues by email or Slack.
BI is currently in beta. You may see a beta banner in the app while features are refined.
📍 Accessing BI
- Sign in to your tenant workspace.
- Open BI from the main app switcher / sidebar.
- The app loads at
/app/avantbi.
Sidebar sections:
| Section | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Home | Recent queries and databoards; Maya AI prompt (when Maya is enabled) |
| Integrations | Connect ETL platforms and direct databases |
| Queries | Saved SQL reports with parameters and visualizations |
| Databoards | Multi-widget dashboards built from queries |
| Databoards Sharing | Manage all outbound share schedules and delivery history |
How BI fits together
- Connect data — Enable integrations (Square, Cheerfy, etc.) or attach PostgreSQL / MySQL / SQL Server.
- Query — Write SQL against synced tables; add parameters for filters.
- Visualize — Pick chart or table types and preview results.
- Assemble — Drag queries onto a databoard canvas with parameters, titles, and branding.
- Share — Send live links or PDF snapshots on a schedule.
Typical first workflow
- Go to Integrations → Add data source → connect an integration or database.
- Wait for the first sync (check Sync health on the integration detail page).
- Open Queries → Add query → pick your data source → write or generate SQL with Maya.
- Choose a visualization type and save the query.
- Open Databoards → Add databoard → insert your query → arrange the layout → save.
- Optional: Share the databoard with colleagues or pin it to the ERP dashboard.
