Products/Materials

The terms Products and Materials are used interchangeably in the system and refer to the same thing, the core entity used in the system to define what exactly you're storing in your inventory, examples of Products or Materials are "Apple Pie", "Sony Playstation 5", "Panadol Extra" etc,

Suppliers

Suppliers are the entities from whom the different products are purchased, a single product can have multiple different suppliers with their own unique quirks and features.

Lots/Batches

A lot or a batch is a single purchase of a specific product/material from a specific supplier, it is the most unique way to identify products outside of where they are. All the units of a specific product that share all their intrinsic attributes such as the expiration date, supplier, purchase price, batch no, and purchase date are a single lot.

Stock

Stock defines the quantity and location of specific lots of products, a single lot of product might be split up into multiple locations, each grouping of a unique product lot in a location is an amount of stock at that location, the sum of which gives you the total stock.

Inventories

Locations that allow you to store and access your stock, they can be nested within other inventories, and even the vehicles in "Delivery and Dispatch" are considered inventories.
